Pro Vision coordinated a simplified planning regime for Greenham Business Park, new Newbury to help facilitate regeneration of the former military airbase.
Working in close partnership with west Berkshire Council, we led the preparation of a simplified planning regime – Local Development Order – for the business park, one of the main employment areas in West Berkshire.
This involved setting out clear development parameters, including a zoning areas for different uses, setting maximum building heights and crafting a set of standard planning conditions.
Adopted in December 2018, the LDO has addressed all the key planning issues upfront so that proposals according with the development parameters simply have to go through a system of fast-track notification with the LPA, avoiding the need for costly and lengthy planning applications. Several development plots have already come forward and been built-out under this new regime.
