This project involved the creation of two large annexe buildings in the grounds of a large Grade II listed family house.
The owner's business commitments meant that the property was likely to be left unattended for long periods at a time, hence, the brief was to create a separate one bedroom self-contained detached annexe for a housekeeper. Also, in order to maximize the potential of the property when the family is at home and entertaining, a leisure building was created which formed the other annexe and which also fronted on to a new outdoor swimming pool.
The housekeeper’s flat was located on the first floor of the 'Garage annexe' above a 3 car garage, garden store room and toilet. Below this was a basement, which contained a large plant room associated with the swimming pool, oil tank and wine cellar. The 'Leisure annexe' contained an indoor 'endless pool', changing rooms and large kitchen with sliding glazed doors which opened on to the terrace and outdoor swimming pool. At first floor level was a large entertaining / sitting area and games room.
We worked on the scheme from conception through to completion on site.
